Alexander’s practice exists at the intersection of observation, experimentation, and play—an ongoing exploration of the strange, overlooked, contradictory, and quietly beautiful elements of ordinary life. Working across traditional drawing, print, digital media, design, and three-dimensional form, his work resists allegiance to a single aesthetic or discipline. Instead, each medium becomes another means of investigation: a way of dismantling familiar visual language and rebuilding it into something personal, imperfect, humorous, and occasionally unsettling. At the center of the practice is a belief that curiosity is more valuable than certainty. Characters, environments, symbols, architecture, found imagery, absurd objects, and fragments of everyday experience are treated as pieces of an evolving visual vocabulary. The resulting work moves freely between sincerity and irreverence, beauty and ugliness, precision and accident—allowing contradictions to remain unresolved rather than forcing them into easy conclusions. The objective is not perfection. It is discovery. To make things without requiring that they justify their existence. To remain technically curious without allowing technique to extinguish spontaneity. To take ideas seriously without becoming overly serious about the person making them. The work celebrates experimentation as a permanent condition rather than a developmental stage. Mistakes become artifacts. Humor becomes a method of inquiry. Strange ideas are permitted to remain strange. Ultimately, the practice is guided by a deliberately simple proposition: Make things. Stay curious. Pay attention. Leave room for the unexpected.
